Hyderabad Gripped by Patriotic fervour on 79th Independence Day
Hyderabad celebrated the 79th Independence Day with flag hoisting, cultural events, and tributes. Cyberabad Police honoured seven officers with Uttam Seva Pathakam, stressing their role in law enforcement and national integrity.

Hyderabad: Patriotic fervour gripped Hyderabad on Friday, as government departments, academic institutions, voluntary organisations and families celebrated the 79th Independence Day by hoisting the tricolour, organising sporting events, holding parades, conducting blood donation camps, felicitation programmes and recalling the history of the Indian freedom struggle.
In addition to the official ceremonies, a vibrant spirit of patriotism filled the air across the city. Many neighbourhoods and apartment complexes hosted smaller-scale events where residents gathered to unfurl the national flag, sing patriotic songs, and share sweets. Children participated in drawing competitions and fancy dress parades, proudly dressed as national heroes. Local communities also organised cultural programmes showcasing traditional dances and music.
The Cyberabad Police celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate Parade Grounds on Friday. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty hoisted the national flag and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for India’s independence.
Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum, the official retreat home of the President of India, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour and grandeur. The celebrations commenced with the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally from Gate 1 to the forecourt, where students carried a 100-foot national flag.
Caregivers at all the top government hospitals in Hyderabad, including NIMS, Osmania General Hospital and Gandhi Hospital, celebrated Independence Day with institutional heads hoisting the national flag.
