Hyderabad: A local court in Medchal, on Friday, sentenced a man to two years of rigorous imprisonment for harassing his wife for additional dowry. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.
Ch Srinivas (40), a construction worker from Sutharigudem in Medchal, was arrested in December 2016 after his wife Ch Bhagya Laxmi lodged a complaint against him alleging that he was harassing her physically and mentally for additional dowry.
The court took up the trial and after finding Srinivas guilty, sentenced him to imprisonment.
