Hyderabad: A case of impersonation was registered during the Intermediate Public Examination, which was missed by nearly 20,000 first-year intermediate students, on Wednesday.
According to a Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) official, the impersonation case was registered at a private junior college in Rangareddy district where instead of a backlog student, another candidate attempted to write the examination.
“The incident was reported from Ira Junior College in Champapet. Upon checking the hall ticket, the invigilator saw the mismatch of the photograph on the hall ticket with the student present for the exam. Immediately the candidate was taken out and the centre chief superintendent registered an FIR against both candidates,” the official said.
Meanwhile, out of 5,20,314 intermediate first students registered for Chemistry-I and Commerce-I exams, 5,00,572 were present.
As many as 15 malpractice cases with 10 in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, three in Warangal, and one each in Jagtial and Nizamabad districts were booked.
