Hyderabad: If we have come through the turmoil of pandemic successfully, the major credit goes to different art forms that have kept us occupied in the dooms day feels Akhil Reddy Kommidi of Dabaki in Hyderabad.
Well, now, to bring art further closer to the city dwellers, Akhil Reddy through Dabaki has curated an all new episode of weekend workshops that will give an opportunity to art lovers to step out, socialise and also learn their favourite form of art from their role models in the industry.
“There are not many avenues in the city where people can acquire skills related to art. And so Dabaki wants to create a bridge where budding artists can hone the skills with the help of the some prominent faces in the industry. Through these workshops they not only learn but also create an opportunity to work in the industry with the help of the mentor,” shares Akhil Reddy.
Adding further he says, “There might be many who have some great scripts written but do not know how to convince the producers to take up the project, or there might be many who are very interested in fashion and photography but do not have a clear idea on how to go about pursuing it. Well, through these workshops all such hanging questions of art lovers of different forms will be answered.”
Spread through the four weekends of October, the 15 workshops, which Akhil says is just the Season 1 and is there to continue, will see some prominent names from the art industry who through the physical workshops will teach the tricks of the trade.
Fashion photographer Nishat Fatima (Former editor of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar), ‘Stand Up Rahul’ filmmaker Santosh Mohan Veeranki, Screenwriter Anusha Rao who worked for ‘Baahubali’ part 1 through Arka Media Works are some of the mentors for the workshop.
Starting this weekend – October 9, the fee for the workshops, which will be held at different venues across the city, will be Rs 3500. However, if more than one workshop is chosen, there will be a discount in price, Akhil shares.
