Hyderabad man booked by Medak police for impersonating Interpol officer
Medak police booked a Hyderabad man, Bukka Santosh, after he posed as an Interpol officer and presented suspicious ID cards to the district Collector. The IDs were found to be fake following an inquiry.
Medak: Carrying a fake identity card claiming to be an Interpol officer, a man met Medak Collector Prathima Singh during the public grievances programme on Monday. The Collector and her staff suspected something was amiss and informed Medak DSP Prasanna Kumar.
The accused, Bukka Santosh, a native of Kothapet in Hyderabad, along with his friend Srinath, visited the Collectorate on Monday morning to submit a representation to the Collector seeking a solution to a land issue.
The police immediately took the accused into custody after receiving a call from the Collector’s office. The accused was also carrying a fake intelligence officer’s identity card.
The Havelighanpur police registered cases of cheating and forgery against him. Santosh was produced before a court in Medak and remanded to judicial custody.
