Hyderabad man held for using fake number plate to evade challans

Hyderabad Traffic Police and Tolichowki police arrested a man for using a fake number plate on his scooter to evade traffic penalties. Authorities said the misuse led to multiple violations being wrongly assigned to another vehicle owner

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police, along with Tolichowki police, nabbed a man for allegedly using a fake registration number plate on his two-wheeler to evade penalties and mislead authorities.

The suspect, Mohd Moinuddin, a driver and resident of Brundavan Colony in Tolichowki, was found to have affixed a fake number plate (TS11EU5327) to his scooter instead of its original registration (TS12ER2466).

Police said he resorted to the tactic to avoid traffic challans and evade finance recovery agents. Multiple traffic violations committed by the accused were wrongly attributed to another vehicle owner, Mohd Layeeq of Yakuthpura, whose registration number was being misused.

The Tolichowki police are investigating.
