Vehicle registration services at RTOs were disrupted on Monday due to recurring technical issues in the upgraded Vahan software. Slow response times and intermittent outages caused long queues, delayed registrations, and increased waiting times, prompting public frustration and calls for swift resolution.
The Transport Department has extended the deadline for reserving fancy or special vehicle registration numbers. Owners of newly purchased vehicles can now select and reserve preferred numbers within two months of temporary registration, failing which the system will automatically allot a regular number.
