Thousands of new vehicles in Telangana remain stuck at showrooms as permanent registration numbers have not been generated for several days. The disruption, linked to technical issues in the Union government’s Vaahan portal, has left applicants and showroom staff in confusion.

RTO authorities has noticed a growing trend when white board vehicles are being used for commercial purposes, leading to significant financial losses to the government and legitimate commercial vehicle owners.
Presently, only Temporary Registrations (TR) are being done for vehicles in the showrooms. Although these TRs are received from the Transport Department, the vehicle purchasers do not have to go to the RTA office for that.
