Hyderabad: Man held while attempting ATM theft in Miyapur
Miyapur police arrested a 24-year-old man while he was attempting to steal from an SBI ATM in Hafeezpet late on Sunday night. Swift action following a Dial-100 alert helped prevent damage, police said.
Hyderabad: The Miyapur police swiftly responded to a Dial-100 alert and arrested a man who was attempting to steal from an ATM in the Hafeezpet area.
The incident occurred on Sunday late night, at a State Bank of India ATM located in Marthanda Nagar.
Acting on the information, police reached the spot within minutes and caught the suspect red-handed during a preliminary inspection.
The suspect was identified as V. Katamaiah (24), a resident of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. Police registered a case and are investigating.
Officials stated that timely police action helped prevent major damage at the ATM. They urged the citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to Dial-100.
