Hyderabad: Even after six days, the suspect in the sexual assault case of a young woman on a moving MMTS train is yet to be identified and nabbed. Despite extensive investigation being conducted by four special teams, CCTV footage, inspections in various places, and technology, there has been no progress yet.

The victim’s inability to properly identify the suspect is proving to be a task to the investigation officials from the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force.

As per sources, based on the details given by the victim, the police have rounded up suspects in many villages around Medchal, but it was of no help. While there are 14 railway stations from Secunderabad to Medchal, there are no CCTV cameras anywhere except at the Secunderabad and Malkajgiri railway stations.

Meanwhile, the police are planning to show the photos of suspects to the victim again on Friday. When they first showed her the photos of the suspects, she was reportedly not in a position to identify as she was injured and in a traumatic state. The police recorded the victim’s statement on Thursday.

The victim is currently recovering in the hospital after undergoing surgeries. Two suspects are currently in police custody.
