Hyderabad: Narasimha Jayanti celebrated at golden temple

Hyderabd: Sri Narasimha Jayanti was celebrated at Telangana’s first golden temple by Hare Krishna Movement, here on Tuesday. As part of the celebrations, elaborate vedic rituals including a grand Maha Abhishekam, Sudarshana Narasimha Homa, Maha Pallaki procession inside the temple premises were held.
According to a press release, Sri Lakshmi Narashimha Swamy Kalyanam and sankeerthans were performed and the celebrations concluded with a Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Ekanta Seva. Many devotees from all parts of the world watched the live telecast of the programme through Hare Krishna Golden Temple YouTube channel.
The celebrations which were performed internally by temple priests starting with the special Nava Kalasha Abhishekam to the Swayambhu deity of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy where in the Lord was bathed with panchamritha, pancha gavya, fruit juices, herbal powders, chosen flowers etc, amid bhajans and kirtans.
Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, president of Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad said, “Sri Narasimha Jayanthi is the divine appearance day of Lord Narasimha in the form of half-lion and half-man to save his devotee Sri Prahlada. Lord Narsimha appeared to give Abhaya or fearlessness to his devotees and to vanquish demoniac elements.”
