Hyderabad: New bus stops to ease traffic congestion near RTC X Roads
Three new bus stops have been built on government land near Bus Bhavan at RTC X Roads to ease traffic congestion caused by buses stopping on the narrow roadside stretch. TGSRTC officials said the facility will become operational within a week.
Hyderabad: In a major relief to the passengers taking bus near Bus Bhavan at RTC X Roads, a new facility has been set up.
Passengers including students and employees travelling towards Ram Nagar, Azamabad, Osmania University and adjoining areas use the existing roadside stop. However, its location made it difficult for bus drivers to halt until all passengers boarded, disrupting traffic on the stretch and inconveniencing commuters. Two popular theatres near the bus station also draw heavy crowds after shows.
The stretch between RTC X Roads and Azamabad also happens to be narrow and when a bus makes a stop, two-wheelers and four-wheelers end up waiting on the road until it leaves, resulting in heavy traffic jams.
To avoid inconvenience, the authorities are shifting the bus stop to an open government land adjacent to Bus Bhavan where three bus stops have been newly built. According to the TGSRTC officials, the new bus stops would become operational within a week. There is also a proposal under consideration of installing the E V stations on the same premises.
