Hyderabad: NITHM signs MoU with EPTRI

Hyderabad: For training, consultancy, research, and technological cooperation in the area of environmental management in the context of tourism and hospitality and its allied sectors, National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM), and Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The MoU which was signed by NITHM, director, Dr. S Chinnam Reddy, and EPTRI, DG, Adhar Sinha would facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources through joint training, research, teaching, internship, conferences, and workshops for the mutual benefit of the institutes.

Sinha said tourism, as one of the fastest-growing industry, provides various benefits while leading to several negative impacts if it is not managed properly. In this regard, NITHM and EPTRI can make a joint effort to make tourism more sustainable by reducing the negative impacts through training, awareness, and environmental impact assessment studies, he said.

Dr. Reddy stressed the importance of environmental management in general and in the context of tourism and hospitality in particular.
