Hyderabad: Renowned radiation oncologist and Padma Shri recipient Dr Nori Dattatreyudu paid a courtesy call on IT Minister KT Rama Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here on Wednesday. Dattatreyudu appreciated the initiatives of the State government in Medical and Health sector besides offering his support to improve the health services especially cancer treatment in the State.
During their brief meeting, the two discussed the medical procedures being followed by different countries in the field of medicine, especially cancer treatment. Appreciating the progress made by the Telangana State after its formation, Dr Dattatreyudu said he will support any medical initiative undertaken by the State government and partner with it in cancer-related programmes. He said his medical education and career started in Hyderabad and he would always be ready to render service to the State.
Earlier, the Minister explained about various innovative initiatives of the State government in the medical and health sector. He stated that after the Corona pandemic, the State government has increased its budget allocations for improving the facilities in the government hospitals across the State and the Chief Minister was keen to strengthen the public health sector through various innovative programmes. He also lauded the health services rendered by Dr Dattatreyudu to millions of people over several decades.
