Hyderabad: Police hunt for duo behind Afzalgunj shooting
The two men are believed to be involved in a heist in Bidar, during which two people, including a security guard, were shot dead, and Rs 93 lakh was stolen. After fleeing Bidar, the suspects are thought to have reached Hyderabad, where they booked tickets at Roshan Travel Agency in Afzalgunj to travel to Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police formed eight special teams to identify and nab the two men who had fired at the manager of a travel agency at Afzalgunj on Thursday.
The victim Jahangir, who works as manager at Roshan Travels, was shot with a country made pistol by one of the men when he asked them to get down from the bus after finding cash in their luggage bag.
The two men are suspected to have committed a heist at Bidar where two persons including a security guard were shot dead and Rs. 93 lakh robbed. After escaping from Bidar, the duo is suspected to have reached the city and booked tickets at Roshan Travel agency at Afzalgunj, to head to Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
The duo sat at the travel agency office for some time and then boarded a mini bus that takes passengers to Bowenpally where they have to board the luxury long distance bus.
When Jahangir checked the baggage of the two suspects, he found cash and tried to enquire further about the source when one of the men pulled out a weapon and fired at Jahangir. The duo then escaped from the place with the bags.
“The suspects then headed in an auto rickshaw to Tank Bund and we suspect they went towards Secunderabad. Eight teams are working on the task to identify and nab them,” said DCP (east), K Balaswamy.
After coming to know about the incident, a team of Bidar police headed by a DSP rank officer came to the city and collected details about the suspects. The Bidar police said they suspect the two persons involved in Afzalgunj incident were the ones who shot dead two persons in Bidar and robbed Rs. 93 lakh from them.
