Hyderabad: Civil servants are game changers in society, and to become one requires discipline and focused study, said Dr. G. Vivekananda, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Defence, during a seminar titled ‘Civil Services – the G.O.A.T Career for a Fresh Graduate,’ organized by ‘Telangana Today’ and ‘Namasthe Telangana’ in collaboration with Reflections IAS Academy at St. Peters Engineering College, Medchal, on Monday.

Dr. Vivekananda shared valuable insights on the UPSC exams, encouraging students to identify challenges and provide solutions and emphasized that securing a civil servant position not only offers job security but also provides the opportunity to become a societal game changer and address pressing issues.

He also debunked the myth that only students from prestigious institutions like IITs or medical backgrounds should attempt the UPSC exams, highlighting that students from regular degree programs are equally capable of succeeding.

Responding to a query from Harsha, a final-year student, Dr. Vivekananda advised students to maintain focus and consistency, suggesting that success could be achieved in less than two years with the right approach.

Ramana Muppala, Founder and Director of Reflections IAS Academy, addressed the students, and explained that the UPSC releases exam notifications annually, and a candidate can attempt the exam up to six times. He discussed the motivating factors behind pursuing civil services and noted that it offers legitimate authority to serve society.

Dr. K. Sree Latha, Principal of St. Peters Engineering College, encouraged students to participate in such seminars for their personal and professional growth. She extended her gratitude to ‘Telangana Publications’ for organizing this insightful seminar. Dr. Srikanth, Head of Training and Placements, was also present at the event.
