Hyderabad: The Defence Estates Office, Telangana, will have to clear two key infrastructure projects in the Secunderabad Cantonment aimed at improving road connectivity and ensuring free traffic movement around the AoC Circle and Rasoolpura.
At the Secunderabad Cantonment Board meeting on Saturday, SCB Chief Executive Officer Arvind Kumar Dwivedi tabled the proposals after the GHMC sought clearance under the Road Development Plan.
Dwivedi said that in the case of the alternate roads at AoC Circle, defence land pertaining to residential colonies was under court litigation. He added that the proposed FoB/RoB and alternate routes fell within the funnel zone of the Begumpet Airport runway, requiring clearance from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Regarding the four-lane unidirectional junction at Rasoolpura, he stated that a NoC was required from the Defence Estates Office since no SCB land would be affected by the project. The board decided to forward both proposals to the Defence Estates Office for final approval.
The SCB Board also approved a monthly entry fee of Rs 100 for morning and evening walkers and a daily fee of Rs 5 for general visitors at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Park (popularly known as Picket Garden) near JBS.
