Hyderabad: Telugu actor and producer Dasari Arun Kumar, son of filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao, was arrested by the Banjara Hills police on charges of rash and negligent driving under the influence of alcohol on Thursday.
Sources said Arun Kumar, allegedly drove his car in an inebriated condition and hit two motorists at Syed Nagar in Banjara Hills. No casualties were reported in the incident, but four bikes were damaged apart from his car.
On receiving information, the Banjara Hills police reached the spot and took him into custody. The police sent Arun Kumar’s samples for testing and the reports confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol while driving the car.
The Banjara Hills police booked a case for rash and negligent driving, drunk driving and sections of the MV Act. He was produced before the court for remanding in judicial custody.
