Hyderabad: Toddler falls to death from staircase

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 17-month-old boy who was injured after falling from the first floor of his house at Borabada in Sanathnagar died while undergoing treatment here late on Friday.

The infant identified as Sheik Riyaz, was playing alone at Alampur in Borabanda on Thursday afternoon, when he slipped and fell from the staircase. He suffered grievous injuries on his head and was immediately shifted to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Based on a complaint from his father Sheik Athar, the Sanathnagar police have booked a case under section 174 of the CrPC and taken up investigation.

The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and was handed over to the family after autopsy on Saturday.
