Hyderabad: A traffic home guard returned a bag containing cash, gold ring weighing one tola and a smartphone, to its owner on Sunday.
Suvarna Raju, a home guard working with Tolichowki traffic police station, was performing his duties when he found a bag at Moghal ka Nala Pillar No 104 of PVNR Expressway. On checking the bag he found Rs 5,000 cash, a gold ring weighing one tola and Mi Smartphone worth Rs 27,000.
The owner of the bag MS Gungun of Puranapul who realised the bag was missing after travelling some distance, rang her number. Raju who received the call informed her that the bag was with him and she can collect it.
The woman reached Moghal ka Nala where Raju handed over the bag to the owner after verification.
Gungun was travelling on Moghal ka Nala road when the bag slipped and fell down on the road and she noticed it after travelling some distance. On getting back her bag, she profusely thanked Raju and appreciated his honesty.
Senior traffic police officials said they will reward the home guard for his honesty.
