Hyderabad: Vani Devi takes oath as MLC

Hyderabad: Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s daughter Surabhi Vani Devi took oath as the Member of Legislative Council on Sunday.
Representing the TRS, Vani Devi won the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ MLC Constituency by a margin of 36,580 votes over her nearest BJP rival N. Ramchander Rao.
“I thank Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for providing me an opportunity to serve the people and also all the TRS leaders who had worked hard for my victory” said Vani Devi. Though no position is required to serve people, being an MLC does help in serving the people effectively, she added.
