Hyderabad: Woman accuses SI of bigamy, tries to end life
On Tuesday, she went to the Begumpet police station and consumed an unknown poison and attempted to end her life
Hyderabad: A woman attempted to die by suicide on the premises of the Begumpet police station alleging she was cheated by Tappachabutra Sub-Inspector U Madhu on the promise of marriage.
The 32-year-old woman reached the police station on Tuesday to lodge a complaint against the SI, alleging that though he was already married, they had an intimate relationship, with him promising to marry her as well. However, recently when she asked him to get married, he refused and started avoiding her. Following this, she had earlier approached the West Zone Joint Commissioner of Police AR Srinivas, Tappachabutra police and the Begumpet police and lodged a complaint. After this, Madhu was placed under suspension by City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar on July 15. However, police officials have been tightlipped over it ever since.
On Tuesday, she went to the Begumpet police station and consumed an unknown poison and attempted to end her life. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Secunderabad, where she is being treated. Her condition is said to be stable. The Begumpet police are investigating.
