IIT Hyderabad hosts first Inter-IIT undergraduate innovation meet
The IIT Hyderabad campus in Sangareddy hosted the inaugural Inter-IIT Undergraduate Innovation Meet, themed “Reimagining Innovation in Science and Engineering @ IIT”. Around 1,000 students from IITs nationwide presented their projects.

Sangareddy: Undergraduate students from Indian Institutes of Technology across the country showcased their innovations during the first-ever Inter-IIT Undergraduate Innovation Meet, titled “Reimagining Innovation in Science and Engineering @ IIT”, organised at the IIT Hyderabad campus at Kandi in Sangareddy district on Saturday.
At least 1,000 student innovators, pursuing diverse undergraduate courses across various IITs, displayed their projects at the event. Students from IIT (BHU) Varanasi won the first prize for developing a handheld micro-imaging device.
Arkya Jyothi Ghosh and Supratim Mahapatra, fourth-year B. Tech students from IIT (BHU) Varanasi, received a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh for their innovation. Multiple cash prizes were also awarded to other innovators.
Special Chief Secretary to the Telangana government and Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT Hyderabad BVR Mohan Reddy, Director of IIT Hyderabad BS Murty, and several other dignitaries participated in the programme. They went around the exhibition stalls and interacted with students. The guests later presented cash prizes to the winners.
