Hyderabad: Health Minister Eatala Rajender on Friday declared that he was ready to face any inquiry either by the CBI or a sitting Judge of the High Court into the allegations of land encroachment levelled against him.
He urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who ordered for two simultaneous investigations by the Chief Secretary and also the Vigilance DGP, to also issue orders for an inquiry by a sitting Judge of the High Court to ascertain the facts behind the allegations.
He said he had legally purchased nearly 47 acres in Masaipet mandal and also approached the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) for allotment of land for expansion of his poultry farms. He also admitted to have suggested to the locals to handover their assigned lands to the government, so that he could get those lands allotted to him through the TSIIC and also promised some monetary help to the assignees.
Speaking to the media at his farm house in Shamirpet on Friday night, Rajender made it clear that he had purchased about 40 acres in Achampally and Hakimpet villages to establish a modern hatchery in 2016. Later, he purchased another 7 acres as part of expansion and also obtained Rs 100 crore loan from a bank for the purpose.
“As the poultry business needs land, I submitted an application to the Industries Department seeking allotment of land just like any other industries. As an industrialist, I approached the officials concerned, who suggested that it would be easier for the government to allot the land to my poultry, if the assignees handed over their lands to the government. Thus, about 26 acres of land was surrendered to the MRO. But I didn’t get the land allocated for myself,” he said.
The Minister saw a planned attempt to malign his image. “I am confident that Dharma might face a setback temporarily, but it will be the ultimate winner,” he added.
