Warangal: Even as the State Congress leadership has been mired in controversy over domineering attitude of TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, internal bickering in the Congress in erstwhile Warangal district too has come to fore with party’s Warangal and Hanamkonda district president Naini Rajender Reddy threatening to quit the party.
He was said to be peeved over the public statement of party Jangaon district president Janga Raghava Reddy that he would contest from Warangal West constituency instead of Palakurthy Assembly constituency. Rajender Reddy is keen on contesting the next general elections from Warangal West segment as a Congress candidate. However, the public assertion of Raghava Reddy that he would be in the fray has queered the pitch and Rajender Reddy made his point that he would not be in the party if it were so.
“What business does Raghava Reddy have in Warangal West? Everyone knows how he had failed in Palakurthy and Jangaon,” Rajender said. He alleged that Raghava Reddy had been creating chaos in the rank and file of the Congress party in Hanamkonda district with his tours in the district. “It is better to take of his business in Jangaon district,” Rajender Reddy said. He demanded that the party high command take action against Raghava Reddy for his unwarranted comments on candidature of the party in Warangal West constituency.
“I have made several complaints against Raghava Reddy for behavior to the TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and party state affairs incharge Manickam Tagore, but they have not responded so far. If the party leadership continues to behave like this, I am left with no option other than quitting the party,” Rajender said. He claimed that he had been doing a lot of groundwork for many years to strengthen the party in the West constituency. “At least now the party must respond, and take action against Raghava Reddy by March 31. If it fails to do so, I will look for alternatives by discussing the matter with my followers and sincere Congress workers,” Rajender Reddy made it clear.
