Hyderabad: From traditional, contemporary and abstract styles to the art of legends, the State Art Gallery is hosting a one-of-a-kind International Art Show until September 17 celebrating both the past and present of the art world.

Curated by PJ Stalin, M Shankar and Ashok Macha, the exhibition features an impressive 200 artworks by 200 artists. The masterpieces of renowned legends such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, MF Hussain, Akbar Padamsee and FN Souza are among the most prized exhibits.

“Bringing the works of the great masters into a gallery that also celebrates emerging and contemporary artists is a rare treat,” said Stalin adding, “It’s not just about showcasing art but creating a dialogue between eras, showing how the art of legends continues to inspire today’s creatives.”

While paying homage to these iconic figures, the exhibition also embraces the art of the present. The contemporary section boasts modern, experimental pieces that reflect today’s trends. With contributions from artists from Germany and England, the event has an international flair, adding depth and dimension to the art on display.

“Art transcends boundaries and time,” notes Stalin. “The inclusion of international artists lets us see how art evolves across cultures, yet continues to speak a universal language.”

Visitors were enthralled by the display, particularly the work of Picasso. A local attendee shared her awe, saying, “I was stunned by the Picasso painting. Seeing his work in person felt like stepping into a world of genius.”

Whether you’re drawn to the nostalgia of the legends or the innovation of contemporary art, the exhibition is a celebration of the infinite possibilities of artistic expression. With contributions from across the globe, it serves as a reminder that art breaks boundaries, connecting people through creativity and vision.
