An IPS officer from the 1996 batch, Charu Sinha has returned to the Telangana cadre after a distinguished seven-year tenure with the Central Reserve Police Force.
Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer Charu Sinha took charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Crime Investigation Department (CID), on Thursday.
An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1996 batch, Sinha has returned to the Telangana cadre after a distinguished seven-year tenure with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). She had earlier served in Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir.
Notably, she was the first IPS officer to head four CRPF sectors — Bihar, Jammu, Kashmir and the Southern Sector.
In her new role, Sinha will also hold full additional charge as ADGP, Women Safety, including SHE Teams and the Bharosa Centre.
