IPS officer Vinay Ranjan’s wife murder case: Hyderabad Police trace suspects to Pune
Hyderabad police investigating the murder of Tanuja Ranjan, wife of a retired IPS officer, have traced key suspects to Pune. Multiple teams are tracking an interstate gang allegedly involved in murder and robbery, with links extending across several states and Nepal.

Hyderabad: The city police investigating the gruesome murder case of Tanuja Ranjan, wife of retired IPS officer Vinay Ranjan, have reportedly gotten a breakthrough, as the suspects are believed to be hiding in Pune in Maharashtra.
Ten special teams have been deployed to track down the suspects involved in the sensational killing and robbery case reported at the senior cop’s residence in the elite Jubilee Hills.
As per information available, the police found that the gang, allegedly led by one Sahu, a Nepal-based criminal involved in similar offences earlier in India, had planned the crime with assistance from the victim’s domestic help and the prime suspect, Kalpana.
Investigators also suspect that the conspiracy was reportedly orchestrated from inside a prison in Delhi. Individuals from Mumbai, Patna and Nepal were allegedly recruited for the execution of the murder for gain plan through Kalpana, operating from Hyderabad.
During the investigation, police discovered that Kalpana had a criminal background and was previously involved in offences in Lucknow. The gang is accused of escaping with around gold jewellery and cash from the house after the murder. Officials suspect the stolen gold has been concealed in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, surveillance has been tightened in Delhi, Mumbai and along the Indo-Nepal border to prevent the suspects from fleeing the country.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C.Sajjanar stated that the suspects would be arrested soon and that teams are actively pursuing leads across multiple states.
Reports also suggest that Kalpana is currently in police custody and is being brought to Hyderabad for further questioning. However, police are yet to announce it.
