Jagadish Reddy questions Congress’s jail threats against KCR
Finding fault with selective leaks to the media on the report of the inquiry commission on electricity in this regard, he asked whether the Congress had the courage to jail Chandrashekhar Rao over the allegations
Hyderabad: Senior BRS MLA and former Minister G Jagadish Reddy openly challenged the Congress government’s alleged plans to imprison BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Finding fault with selective leaks to the media on the report of the inquiry commission on electricity in this regard, he asked whether the Congress had the courage to jail Chandrashekhar Rao over the allegations.
“Why will they imprison Chandrashekhar Rao or any BRS leader – is it for providing 24-hour electricity to all sectors or implementing power reforms?” he asked.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Jagadish Reddy questioned Congress’s intentions, accusing them of spreading malicious propaganda and stirring public mistrust. He asked if the Electricity Commission’s investigation was complete, why was the Congress not releasing the findings to the public and the Assembly, and instead, using covert media leaks to tarnish the reputation of the former Chief Minister.
“The government claimed that the Commission’s probe is over, but we are not aware of its functioning at all. Our clarifications were never sought. Why the secrecy?” he asked, terming the selective media leaks as tools to trigger speculations in a deliberate attempt to distract from the shortcomings of the State government over the past year.
He asserted that people are unimpressed by the Congress’s governance. “The public is laughing at the Congress’s ineffectiveness,” he stated.
Responding to AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi’s allegations against the BRS, Jagadish Reddy said Owaisi was disregarded even by his own Muslim community. He reminded that the public would ultimately decide the significance of anyone’s astrological predictions, not Owaisi or any other leader. With regard to the ongoing Musi River controversy, he said it was the BRS which initiated the project and had the capability to complete it within the proposed budget.
