JNTU-H asks colleges to take biometric attendance from November 1

Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) directed its affiliated colleges to ensure that all faculty members and PG students in their colleges mark their daily attendance twice through the Aadhaar-based biometric attendance system from November 1.
In a circular, the university has asked all the colleges to make necessary arrangements on priority basis for activating the existing biometric devices at the earliest.
Failing to activate the device would attract a fine of Rs 20,000 per month and university may initiate punitive action such as suspension or withdrawal of affiliation for existing programmes or rejection of affiliation for ensuing academic year, the JNTU-H warned.
