Hyderabad: The JNTU-Hyderabad students and research scholars on Tuesday demanded immediate release of scholarships, pending fee reimbursement arrears and filling up of SC and ST backlog vacancies in teaching and non-teaching positions.

In a representation submitted to Telangana SC and ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah, who visited the university campus on Tuesday, research scholars and students raised several issues plaguing the university.

Apart from fellowships for research scholars, students demanded early completion of works related to construction of ST hostel, besides setting up of a coaching centre to prepare students for competitive examinations.

Research scholars and students Lakavath Bhanu Prakash Nayak, Akash Nayak, Sunny Emmanuel, Suresh, Sai Kiran and among others met the Commission Chairman.
