Jubilee Hills by-election: BJP and Congress yet to announce candidates
BRS has announced Maganti Sunitha as its Jubilee Hills by-election candidate, while Congress and BJP are yet to declare theirs. Committees in both parties are recommending candidates, with announcements expected in the next two to three days

Hyderabad: Even as the Jubilee Hills by-election schedule is announced, uncertainty prevails in Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camps, as both national parties are yet to declare their candidates.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has already announced Maganti Sunitha, widow of BRS sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath.
Both national parties have constituted committees to identify candidates and recommend the names of probables. The three-Minister team constituted by the Congress has submitted its recommendations, while the BJP formed a three-member team on Sunday. Senior leaders from both parties said candidates would be announced only after the election schedule.
As Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Sports Minister V Srihari flew to New Delhi on Monday, Congress aspirants kept their fingers crossed in anticipation of any announcement from the party high command. But till late evening, there was no announcement. Meanwhile, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud hinted that the ticket would be offered to a BC candidate.
After discussing with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, the candidates’ list would be sent to the party high command, and in two to three days, the candidate would be announced, he said during an informal chat with media persons. “MIM is our friendly party and we are hopeful of their support,” Mahesh Kumar Goud added.
Similarly, the State BJP unit is likely to convene a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the list of candidates. Names of three candidates would be sent to the party central leadership, and an announcement is expected on Wednesday.
