Hyderabad: The final voter turnout for the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency bypoll was announced to be 48.49 percent. Returning Officer P Sairam on Wednesday officially declared this in an official statement.
In the general elections held for the Telangana Assembly in 2023, the voter turnout was 47.58 percent. In short, the bypoll brought about an increase of 0.91 percent of voters.
Meanwhile, authorities from the district election office and police are making elaborate arrangements for a smooth and efficient counting process at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Stadium, Yousufguda, on Friday.
EVMs from 407 polling stations were shifted on Tuesday night to the dispersal and reception centre (DRC) at the stadium. The entire premises are now under a three-tier security system around the strong rooms.
“The counting process is expected to be completed in a timely manner, with results being announced shortly thereafter,” a polling duty official said.
A total of 58 candidates, including BRS, BJP and Congress, contested the bypoll, and their fate was sealed inside the EVMs. The results will be announced on November 14 at 8 am.
According to District Election Officer RV Karnan, out of 4,01,365 voters, only 1,94,631 voters took part in Jubilee Hills bypoll.
He released a break-up of the polled votes on Wednesday.
