Jwala Gutta donates 14.5 litres of breast milk to save premature babies
Badminton champion Jwala Gutta donated 14.5 litres of breast milk via Amirtham Foundation to Chennai’s ICH hospital, supporting premature and sick infants. She also urged mothers to donate, highlighting that donor milk can be lifesaving for vulnerable newborns.

Hyderabad: In a novel act, champion badminton player from Hyderabad, Jwala Gutta has donated 14, 500 ml of breast milk that will save lives of premature and severely sick infants whose mothers struggle to produce breast milk.
The ace badminton player donated 70 breast milk packets, a total of 14.5 liters, to the Government-run Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children (ICH), Egmore, Chennai through Chennai-based voluntary organization Amirtham Foundation.

The badminton player herself highlighted the importance of donating breast milk through her various social media accounts. In a post on X, she wrote “Breast milk saves lives. For premature and sick babies, donor milk can be life changing. If you are able to donate, you could be a hero to a family in need. Learn more, share the word and support milk banks”.
Amirthan Foundation, which is a group of over 5000 lactating mothers, praised Jawala Gutta for the donation. “Every ounce you give is a heartbeat of hope for a baby in need. We are happy to share that we have successfully collected 70 milk packets (14, 500 ml) from our new donor mother Jwala Gutta,” Amirtham Foundation posted.
The top badminton player is married to actor Vishnu Vishal and both had welcomed their daughter in April, 2025. They have named their daughter Mira.
