Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Kaghaznagar Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Rai Sidam Chitru has been suspended for showing negligence in providing compensation to families displaced by irrigation projects and failing to honour orders of the High Court. An order to this effect was issued by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday evening.
According to the order, Chitru was placed under suspension for negligence in granting compensation to displaced families, maintaining relevant records and ignoring orders of the High Court.
The families affected by construction of an irrigation project in Dahegaon mandal approached the court seeking fair compensation. The court directed the Revenue officials to provide compensation as per Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. But, the RDO did not honour the order of the High Court, nor maintained the relevant records properly.
