Kanaka Raju brought national-level identity to Ghusadi dance: Indrakaran
Indrakaran said that he felt happy when Kanaka Raju was given the fourth highest civilian honor of the country
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy said that the government would extend all support to Padma Shri winner Kanaka Raju and assured that a double-bed room would be constructed for the dance master. He felicitated Raju at a programme held at Marlavai village in Jainoor mandal on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Indrakaran said that he felt happy when Kanaka Raju was given the fourth highest civilian honor of the country. “The award is recognition to Ghusadi dance, Raju and Telangana. Raju brought an identity to the art form on a national level. Government will extend all support to him. A 2BHK will be built for him soon, considering his wish,” he declared.
The minister further assured to bring the demand of tribals–observing the death anniversary of the famous anthropologist Professor Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf and his wife Elizabeth official–to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He promised to develop Marlavai village in many fronts and to better infrastructure of the habitation at the earliest.
Earlier, Indrakaran visited the home of Kanaka Raju and danced along with the dance master to folk songs of tribals for a while, enthralling audiences. He then paid homage to Haimendorfs by garlanding their busts. He recalled contributions of the anthropologist to the uplift of the ethnic tribes. He dined along with the locals.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kova Laxmi and her counterpart of Adilabad Rathod Janardhan, MLC Puranam Satheesh Kumar, MLAs Athram Sakku and Rathod Bapu Rao, Kumram BhCollector Rahul Raj and many others were present.
