Karimnagar: Anganwadi teacher sacked for diverting eggs meant for children to wine shop
An anganwadi teacher in Rangapur, Karimnagar, was dismissed after she diverted eggs meant for child nutrition to a wine shop in Huzurabad. The incident came to light through media reports, prompting Collector Pamela Satpathy to order an inquiry.
Karimnagar: An anganwadi teacher from Rangapur, Rajamma, was removed from service for diverting anganwadi eggs to a wine shop. Along with her dismissal, a show-cause notice was issued to the supervisor and a memo was served to the CDPO.
Collector Pamela Satpathy issued orders on Tuesday after eggs with anganwadi stamps were found in the permit room of Renuka Yellamma wine shop in Huzurabad town a few days ago. The matter came to light after it was reported by local newspapers.
Following this, the Collector sought an inquiry by district welfare officer Saraswathi. The probe revealed that Rajamma sold the eggs meant for children and women to the wine shop instead of distributing them through the centre.
Acting on the report, the Collector removed Rajamma from service and directed action against the supervisor and CDPO.
