Karimnagar: Collector Pamela Satpathy said it was the responsibility of teachers to guide students properly and enhance their knowledge by teaching lessons in simple methods.

Participating in a workshop conducted for science teachers by the District Education Department in association with Royal Society of Chemistry, Bengaluru at the Collectorate auditorium here on Tuesday, the Collector said teachers should upgrade their knowledge like constant learners and teach lessons to students with patience.

Emphasizing the need to focus on backward students, she wanted the teachers to guide such students properly. A majority of the information about science subject was available in English, she advised teachers to gain hold on the English language.

There should be curiosity in teaching science. Starting with questions, it should develop interest among the students, she said.

It was possible to create wonders and inventions when the hidden talent of students was brought out. Initially, teachers should identify the talents of students and train them to learn the subject on their own through practicals, she added.
