Karimnagar Collector warns of Rs 1,000 fine for those not wearing masks

Karimnagar: District Collector K Shashanka warned to impose a fine of Rs 1,000 to the people who were found without a face mask. He emphasised the need to wear face masks in the wake of the increasing Covid-19 cases in the district. If anybody was found without a mask, they would be imposed fine.

Government has issued guidelines through GO 68 and 69. According to GO, people should not gather in groups and must wear face masks. Besides maintaining physical distance, people must wash hands frequently using either soap or sanitizer.

Shashanka advised the people to try to avoid attending marriages, other functions, meetings and funeral processions. If necessary, people must participate in functions by following Covid-19 norms. He advised the people to undergo Corona tests if they were suffering from cold, cough, fever, headache and body pains. Positive patients must keep in home isolation by taking corona kits.

People who do not have facilities in their houses, could undergo treatment in quarantine centres arranged either in the district headquarters hospital or sports school.

Children and aged people must confine to homes and were advised against venturing out. People who crossed the age of 45 years should take the corona vaccine nearby primary health centres, he said.
