Karimnagar: Following the surge in Covid positive cases and several bankers getting infected with the virus, the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCB) in the integrated Karimnagar district has reduced its business hours and would function from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm only for customers from Tuesday onwards. However, the branches would close at 4 pm.
The state level bankers committee, which took notice of the surge in the virus positive cases and the bank employees suffering from the deadly virus throughout the state, had urged the state government for reduced business hours and even deployment of 50 per cent staff in the banks to discharge their duties.
However, the state government had given consent for reduced business hours for the banks and informed them to the bankers to take adequate safety measures in the banks.
Accordingly, the Karimnagar DCCB branches numbering 69 in the integrated Karimnagar district would function from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm for the customers and the closure of the branches would be at 4 pm.
The bank officials urged the customers to visit the bank only when necessary and avoid moving in groups.
