Karimnagar: Karimnagar police who solved the kidnap case of a nine-month-old boy, handed over the boy to Mumbai police on Friday. According to police, the infant was kidnapped in Bandra police station limits of Mumbai city on August 31. Based on the complaint lodged by the parents, Bandra police registered the case and began the investigation.

With the help of technology, they managed to find that the boy was kidnapped by two persons from the erstwhile Karimnagar district. Bandra policemen informed the matter to Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana, who deployed a taskforce team to detect the case.

Taskforce personnel traced the whereabouts of the boy and arrested two kidnappers on Thursday. Knowing about the detection of the case, Bandra police on Friday visited Karimnagar commissionerate office to take the boy and kidnappers to Mumbai.

The boy was handed over to Bandra police in the presence of Additional DCP (Administration) G Chandramohan. Director General of Police, M Mahender Reddy appreciated CP V Satyanarayana and taskforce cops including inspectors B Mallaiah and Srujan Reddy for detecting the kidnap case within a short period.

The cable operator approached a Telangana person staying in Mumbai for the last 25 years and informed the matter. On August 31, a Mumbai person contacted a cable operator and asked him to come to Mumbai to take the boy.

The cable operator along with the parents went to Mumbai and took the boy by paying Rs 3.15 lakh. They came to Buggaram on September 2. A Telugu couple living in Mumbai lodged a complaint with Bandra police stating that their nine-month-old son was kidnapped.
