Karimnagar: Rice mill blast victim dies while undergoing treatment

Gangarapu Kumar, injured in the October 29 boiler explosion at Kanakadurga Rice Mill in Sultanabad mandal, died while receiving treatment at Karimnagar government hospital. Labour unions have called for fair compensation to support his bereaved family.

Peddapalli: Gangarapu Kumar (44), one of the two labourers injured in the rice mill boiler explosion at Kanakadurga Rice Mill near Katnapalli in Sultanabad mandal, died while undergoing treatment on Sunday.

Kumar and another worker, Kumaraswamy, had sustained serious injuries when the boiler exploded on October 29. Both were shifted to the government hospital at Karimnagar district headquarters, where Kumar succumbed to his injuries on Sunday afternoon.

He is survived by his wife and two sons. Labour unions and others demanded that the family of the deceased be given appropriate compensation.
