Hyderabad: With allotment and transfer of employees nearing completion across 33 districts as per the Presidential Order, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao constituted an Administrative Reforms Committee with four IAS officers. The Committee will study and make recommendations on the active participation of employees at all levels in the implementation of government programmes, their performance in their respective departments, and fill vacancies.
The Committee, headed by Stamps and Registrations Inspector General and Commissioner V Seshadri, will have Chief Minister’s Office Secretary Smita Sabharwal, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar and Women and Child Welfare Commissioner Divya as members.
At a high level review meeting held at Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday, the officials informed the Chief Minister that 38,643 employees were allotted to the new districts and except for 101 employees, the remaining 38,542 had joined their respective posts.
Chandrashekhar Rao directed the newly constituted committee to take necessary steps to issue notifications to immediately fill vacancies in the respective districts. He also wanted the committee to review and report on the measures to be taken to further improve the functioning of various government departments in the districts in the wake of completion of integrated government office complexes and district police buildings.
The committee will also study optimum usage of the services of revenue divisional officers and village revenue staff. It will assess the work pressure on different departments in the newly formed mandals as well as new districts, identify number of new posts required and also suggest measures for usage of technology.
The Chief Minister was cataegorical in stating that the Telangana government was already in the forefront among other States in the implementation of various welfare and development schemes. The government decided to bring new administrative reforms and provide the best possible services to the people, he said, and asked the committee to make appropriate suggestions on how to utilise the services of the employees in the departments of Education, Medical and Health, Municipal Administration and Panchayat Raj to make them more accessible to the people and provide better services as well as infrastructure.
