Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao left his Erravelli residence on Sunday morning to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for examination in the alleged phone-tapping case, at his Nandi Nagar residdence in Hyderabad. He is expected to reach around 1 pm, while the SIT examination is scheduled at 3 pm.
The visit turned into a major show of strength, with party leaders, activists and supporters gathering in large numbers en route, to express solidarity.

Before his departure, senior BRS leader Jahangir Mohammed tied an Imam-e-Zamin, a traditional protective amulet on Chandrashekhar Rao, in a symbol of support and well-wishes. The BRS cadre who gathered outside his Erravelli residence, raised slogans of “Jai Telangana, Jai KCR” as his convoy began the journey. Due to heavy vehicular movement, traffic jams were reported at a few places.
Hundreds of party workers lined stretches of the route to Hyderabad, showering flowers on the convoy and waving party flags. Many recorded videos and took photographs on their mobile phones, while some attempted selfies as the vehicle slowed at key points. Chandrashekhar Rao was seen acknowledging the crowds, greeting supporters along the way.
BRS leaders called the turnout as a spontaneous expression of public backing for their leader, reiterating their charge that the Congress government is misusing investigative agencies for political ends. Police made massive bandobust arrangements to control the crowds, at Erravelli and Nandi Nagar along the highway.
