Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken various steps to make Hyderabad a safe city in the country, Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said here on Thursday.
These initiatives helped in dismissing the false propaganda launched by certain forces that there would be problems in power supply and law and order and that rates of lands would come down after State formation. False propaganda was also made stating that there would be no security to those who come from other areas.
“Chandrashekhar Rao, however, proved them wrong and made Telangana a role model in the country in maintaining law and order effectively by taking up various measures. His initiatives have placed the State on the path of development,” Ali said, participating as a chief guest at the passing out parade of 466 of Stipendiary Cdeat Trainee Police Constables (SCTPCs) here.
He said the Chief Minister, who strongly believes that development can be achieved only if law and order was maintained properly and more people would invest if proper infrastructure was created, introduced reforms with the aim of developing the State on all fronts.
Within a few weeks of State formation, the police department was strengthened by taking steps for its modernization and the required budget was also allocated to it.
As part of the reforms, a high-level committee was constituted and based on its recommendations, SHE Teams were first introduced in the city for the safety and security of women. Buoyed by its success, SHE Teams were established in all districts.
Presently, as many as 331 SHE Teams were attending to complaints received from women, Ali said adding a separate Women Safety Wing was established apart from setting up Bharosa Centres. Taking a cue from Telangana, many States implemented the same initiatives, the Minister said.
