Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar marking his death anniversary on Monday. He said Jayashankar toiled throughout his life to spread the ideology of self-governance and emphasised the need for separate statehood movement to achieve Telangana State. He said the services rendered by the Telangana ideologue would always remain the history of the State.

The Chief Minister said that the Telangana government was putting Professor Jayashankar’s ideas into action and empowering the marginalised sections to become self-reliant. He said the State was paying a befitting tribute to Prof Jayashankar by rectifying each sector and was competing with other States in the country in terms of development.

Rao also paid tributes to writer, lyricist and singer Gooda Anjaiah marking his death anniversary here on Monday. He said Anjaiah’s songs had become synonymous with life, philosophy and cultural consciousness of the marginalised sections in Telangana. He recalled the contribution of Anjaiah for the separate statehood movement through his songs.

He said the aspirations of Gooda Anjaiah that the SC, ST, BC and Minorities should live with dignity, economic and social respect, were being realised by the State government. He said by implementing several welfare and development schemes and programmes for the marginalised classes, a tribute was paid to Anjaiah by the State government.
