Hyderabad: Expressing confidence that the BRS will return to power in Telangana in 2028, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the party has a comprehensive vision for the State’s development over the next 25 years.
He was speaking at Telangana Formation Day celebrations organised jointly by the Malaysia Telugu Association (MAITA) and the BRS NRI Malaysia Chapter in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
“K. Chandrashekhar Rao will once again become Chief Minister. BRS is the only political party with a long-term vision for Telangana’s future,” Rama Rao said.
Launching a sharp attack on the ruling party, he accused its leaders of trying to undermine Telangana’s development achievements through what he described as false propaganda.
Rama Rao said some leaders, whom he referred to as “four-foot leaders”, knew little about Telangana’s history, development, water resources and economic progress, but were spreading misinformation about the State.
“When times are not in our favour, even harmless creatures begin to hiss like cobras. People must remain cautious about such political cobras,” he said, adding that public opinion was steadily shifting in favour of the BRS.
He said Telangana’s growth under BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao remained unmatched in the country.
Drawing comparisons with the development journeys of Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam, Rama Rao said Telangana had emerged as a national model in agriculture, irrigation, industrialisation, per capita income and economic growth within a decade of its formation.
“K Chandrashekhar Rao transformed a migration-hit and drought-prone Telangana into one of India’s most prosperous States,” he said.
Stating that the BRS had already prepared a roadmap for Telangana’s future, Rama Rao said K Chandrashekhar Rao’s decade-long experience in governance made him uniquely positioned to implement that vision.
He said the next phase of Telangana’s development would focus on uninterrupted access to safe drinking water, stronger public transportation systems, future-ready infrastructure and the use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence to drive economic growth.
“NRIs have a critical role to play in shaping Telangana’s future through investments, expertise and knowledge-sharing,” he stressed.
He appealed to overseas Telangana communities to remain connected to their roots while contributing to the State’s next phase of growth and transformation.
Rama Rao also praised NRIs for preserving Telangana’s culture, identity and traditions despite living abroad. Every Telangana child should proudly identify with the State and take pride in its unique history, culture and legacy of struggle, he added.
