Hyderabad: The Telangana Regional Transport Authority (RTA) raised an impressive Rs 63.7 lakh through the sale of fancy vehicle number plates at the Khairatabad regional office on Thursday.

According to RTA officials, several high-value numbers fetched substantial amounts during the vehicle registration auctions.

Among the top bids, the highest was for the number plate “TG 09 G 9999,” which went for a staggering Rs 25,50,200 and was claimed by Hetero Drugs Limited.

Similarly, the fancy number plate TG 09 H 0009 was sold for Rs 6,50,000, claimed by ARL Tyres Limited.

The demand for personalised registration numbers continues to grow, with car owners expressing a variety of preferences.

As the popularity of fancy numbers rises steadily, the transport department anticipates a sustained stream of interest and revenue from future number plate auctions.
