Khammam Collector urges doctors to prescribe in legible manner
Collector told chemists and pharmacists not to sell anti-biotic, ant-viral, coagulants and blood thinner drugs used to treat Covid patients without a valid doctor's prescription
Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan asked the doctors to write the medical prescriptions for Covid-19 patients in a legible manner.
He held a virtual meeting with the chemists and pharmacists in Khammam district and directed them not to sell anti-biotic, ant-viral, coagulants and blood thinner drugs used to treat Covid patients without a valid doctor’s prescription.
Every pharmacy proprietor should strictly follow the Covid-19 protocols in the pharmacies and pharmacists have to explain usage of drugs prescribed by the doctors to the patients. Medicines should not be sold above the MRP rates, Karnan asserted.
He told the drug inspectors to visit the pharmacy to check MRP violations in selling the medicines. Pharmacy owners need to ensure that the staff were free from Covid-19 and ready to deliver the medicines at the doorstep of the patients who were unable to visit medical shops.
The Collector asked the public to call the toll free numbers 1077 and 100 to complain about the sale of Remdesivir injections and other drugs in black market. He also warned that serious action would be taken against the black marketeers.
