Khammam: NGO extends aid to medical students
Financial assistance was given to medical students by Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Welfare Trust Bhagyanagar in Khammam on Thursday.

Khammam: A charitable organisation extended financial assistance to five meritorious medical students from financially poor families to support their education.

At a programme organised by Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Welfare Trust Bhagyanagar here on Thursday, an amount of Rs 1.60 lakh was handed over to the students by the trust chairman Dugyala Ashok and vice chairman Devarakonda Saidulu. They also donated textbooks to the students.


Speaking on the occasion, they informed that the students, though hailing from financially poor families in remote agency villages, have secured MBBS seats by their hard work, hence the trust decided to do its part in supporting them.

Ashok and Saidulu told the students that poverty should not be a hindrance for meritorious students and asked them to study hard with discipline to reach great heights in their lives. They also asked the students to lend their support to others after they get settled in life.

aidulu informed that the trust established in the memory of Karpoori Thakur, a well known socialist leader and former Bihar Chief Minister has been carrying out numerous charitable activities to help the needy.

Annangi Akhila and Agurthi Reshmita of Mahabubabad, Gorintla Dhanyasri and Thotapalli Ashlesha of Cherla and Ragiri Lokesh of Nekkonda were the medical students to whom the assistance was extended.T
