Warangal: Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), has secured the “UGC extension of autonomy for five years”, said KITSW secretary and correspondent Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao here on Saturday. The UGC extended autonomy for a period of five years from the academic year 2021-22 to 2025-26. The UGC granted autonomous status in 2014 under Kakatiya University in June 2014 for six years. And, now it extended the autonomy for another five years.
Treasurer P Narayana Reddy, and principal, Prof K Ashoka Reddy thanked the staff for their commitment towards the college. He said that 1,125 had been selected through campus placement drives for the current academic year. “Our institute also achieved 2nd rank in industry internships through Cisco online for the last academic year (2020-21),” he added.
Dean, Academics, Prof V Rajagopal, Administrative Officer (AO) Prof P Ramesh Reddy, faculty, staff and Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were present at a programme held to celebrate the extension of autonomy status.
